Adept at blues, rags and hot country picking, Toby Walker is a finger-style guitar virtuoso who can coax more out of a guitar than you can imagine. He is a skilled singer and song writer, inspired by traditional and by contemporary music. Toby's passion for the blues and other traditional American music led him to the Mississippi Delta, Virginia and the Carolinas to track down old-time musicians of an earlier era, and learn at the feet of Etta Baker, Jack Owens Eugene Powell, James "Son" Thomas, R.L Burnside and others. Telling the humorous and heartwarming tales of other masters, talking about his inspirations, or astounding audiences with his guitar, he is eagerly received in the U.S., England and Europe. His blues mastery was recognized in Memphis with the International Blues Challenge Award. Visit the Toby's website at: www.littletobywalker.com There will be a jam session before the Toby Walker concert--facilitated by Dannielle Swart--beginning at 6 pm. Bring your instruments and songs! |
